Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026

Thank you for using the EaseUp App. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application and website. By using the app, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Information We Collect

The EaseUp App and website do not collect sensitive personally identifiable information such as email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials. However, the app may request limited, optional data — such as a first name — to personalize the user experience. This information is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.

1.1 First Name (Optional)

Users may choose to enter a first name, which is used solely for personalization (e.g., displaying it on the home screen).

  • This is entirely optional and does not affect access to any app features.
  • The first name is stored only on your device and is not collected, transmitted, or shared externally.

1.2 Purchases, Pro access & transaction data (Apple In-App Purchase / StoreKit)

Current versions of the EaseUp app use Apple’s In-App Purchase system and StoreKit to process lifetime (one-time) purchases, verify Pro (premium) access—including any legacy auto-renewable subscription that remains active with Apple—and to support Restore Purchases. EaseUp does not receive or store your payment card details; Apple processes payments. Purchase-related signals may also be reflected in coarse analytics properties (for example, whether Pro appears enabled) as described in the Amplitude section below.

  • Purchase transaction metadata and product identifiers associated with your Apple ID for EaseUp.
  • Whether you have an active lifetime purchase and, if applicable, whether a legacy auto-renewable subscription remains active with Apple (including the remaining paid period after cancellation, and billing retry or grace periods while Apple still treats the subscription as entitled).
  • Support for Restore Purchases across your devices and reasonable checks to reduce unauthorized access to paid features.

This data is used solely to:

  • Verify purchases and manage access to Pro (premium) features.
  • Restore purchases and entitlements across your devices through Apple.
  • Prevent unauthorized access or fraudulent use

We do not access or store payment card information. Apple processes payments through the App Store; Apple’s privacy materials describe how Apple handles related data.

For more information, see Apple’s Privacy Policy.

1.3 Technical and behavioral data for EaseUp app (via Amplitude)

We use Amplitude, an analytics platform, to collect anonymous technical and behavioral data to help us understand how users interact with the app. We may include coarse indicators related to premium access (for example, whether Pro features appear enabled). This data includes:

  • App performance metrics (e.g., load times, crash reports)
  • Feature usage patterns
  • Navigation paths within the app
  • Session duration and frequency

This data is used solely to improve the app's performance and user experience. We do not use this data to identify individual users.

1.4 iCloud Sync

EaseUp uses Apple iCloud to back up and sync your app data—such as mood logs, breathing sessions, journal entries, and movement history—across your Apple devices. This feature is enabled by default if you are signed into iCloud on your device.

Your iCloud data is stored securely by Apple and governed by Apple’s privacy policies. EaseUp does not collect or access this data directly. You can disable iCloud sync for EaseUp at any time via your iOS device settings.

1.5 Technical and behavioral data for EaseUp app website - easeupapp.com (via Amplitude)

When you use our website, Amplitude helps us understand how people interact with our pages. It automatically collects information like which buttons are clicked, which pages are visited, and what type of device or browser you’re using. This helps us improve your experience.

Importantly, Amplitude does NOT collect any personal information like your name, email, or phone number.

How can you prevent this data collection?

If you prefer not to share this usage data, you can block or delete cookies in your web browser, use privacy-focused browser extensions, or browse in “private” or “incognito” mode. Some browsers also offer settings to block tracking scripts. Please note that blocking analytics may affect how some features of our website work.

2. How We Use Information

The information collected via Amplitude and purchase-related data processed by Apple (In-App Purchase / StoreKit) is used solely for internal, analytical, and operational purposes, including:

  • Improving app functionality, stability, and performance
  • Understanding general usage trends to enhance user experience
  • Managing access to Pro (premium) features, including lifetime purchases and legacy subscriptions while they remain active with Apple, and restoring purchases.

We do not use the data for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not sell, trade, or rent any collected data.

3. Children’s Privacy

The EaseUp App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has entered personal information into the app (e.g., by manually entering their name), please contact us and we will assist in removing any locally stored data from their device.

4. Data Security and Retention

  • We do not store personal data on external servers.
  • The optional first name remains on your device and is deleted when the app is uninstalled or the data is manually cleared.
  • Anonymous technical and usage data collected via Amplitude may be retained according to Amplitude’s policies and our configuration to help improve future versions of the app.
  • Purchase and subscription entitlement information is determined using Apple’s systems; Apple may retain related records in accordance with Apple’s policies. The app may cache minimal purchase state on your device to unlock features.
  • We implement reasonable safeguards to protect any information handled within the app.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically in the app to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the app after any changes to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such changes.
